I am a trilingual, mixed methods international criminology scholar. My research program explores the intersection between prisons, reentry and reintegration, and the nonprofit sector. I am particularly interested in the role that nonprofits, charities and NGOs play in the reintegration of incarcerated people, and the role they can play in desistance from crime. As a Franco-American scholar, I am interested in comparative perspectives on criminal justice, comparative penology, and international and transnational criminal justice theory. My research emphasises cross-sector collaboration in pursuit of criminal justice system reform that lessens the harm inflicted on justice-involved people. I also engage in depth with critical perspectives on criminal justice, and examine the complex harms and reach of the carceral system and the central role of class and race in criminalization. I equally value my roles as a researcher and an educator; I am passionate about teaching, and endeavor to create judgement-free spaces for discussion in my classroom. I am particularly interested in finding ways to leverage new and emerging technologies in my assignments, while building on students’ critical thinking skills.
